Between my change in diet and the medication my numbers are looking real good. However I've never gotten past the GI issues.

The stomach and upper GI issues went away after a few days. Unfortunately I deal metformin lower GI issues on an almost daily basis. The main problem is very painful cramping first thing in the morning. It will sometimes wake me up in the morning.

I would just suck it up, except it's really affecting my ability to work out in the morning. I've read that people who had problems with Glucophage xr vs metformin er in the morning morning had a lot of success with Metformin XR.
I don't want to screw up my numbers. Will XR not be as effective?
Anyone have any experience with this? I can't tell if there is a cost difference. Anyone have the opposite reaction?
Join Date March Posts Ask you doctor for the Metformin XR - it's the same, but coated so it's more long-lasting. People experience fewer side-effects on it.

It should be very cheap in the the morning form AnnFromMA liked this post. My previous doctor was adamant that the XR version was not as effective or "bio available" as the non-XR version.
I'm not glucophage if he was right or not, I still use the non-XR version. You are taking a small amount of metformin so link should glucophage xr vs metformin er in the morning as effective.
I have to take mg and my doctor told me the ER would not be as effective since the max dose the morning mg. I don't know why the max is less.
