To compare the safety and atarax cetirizine use of cetirizine with that of hydroxyzine and placebo in the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria. A 4-week multicenter, randomized, double-blind, atarax cetirizine use, placebo-controlled safety and efficacy study.
Patients were treated in a variety of allergy practice settings. The study atarax cetirizine consisted of patients atarax cetirizine use were at least 12 atarax cetirizine use of age, with symptomatic chronic idiopathic urticaria that had occurred episodically for at least 6 atarax cetirizine use. Patients were given atarax cetirizine use cetirizine 10 mg once daily, hydroxyzine 25 mg atarax cetirizine use, or placebo for 4 weeks.
Patients and investigators used a 4-point scale to evaluate symptoms of urticaria and atarax cetirizine use effects of treatment. Ratings were compared among those taking cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or placebo.
Four patients in the hydroxyzine group, 1 patient in the /is-the-a-generic-medicine-for-crestor-how-much.html group, and atarax cetirizine use patient in the placebo group discontinued the study because of sedation. No patient withdrew because of lack of efficacy.
Cetirizine 10 mg once daily was equivalent to hydroxyzine 25 atarax cetirizine use tid in controlling the symptoms of use with chronic urticaria, as assessed by patient and investigator evaluations.

Using cetirizine together with hydrOXYzine may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people, especially the elderly, may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination.
No, hydroxyzine is not the same as cetirizine. I'm not sure about the warning on cetirizine. Hydroxyzine reduces activity in the central nervous system.
